Navarre profile

Living in Navarre

Navarre is a medium-sized coastal town (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Florida. With a population of 40,817 people and eight associated neighborhoods, Navarre is the 85th largest community in Florida. There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Navarre, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Navarre, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Navarre’s real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation. Navarre does seem to be experiencing an influx of affluent people, because the median household income is $98,522.00.

There are quite a few people in the armed forces living in Navarre, and when you visit or drive around town, you will see military people in and out of uniform, shopping, enjoying life, and being part of the community.

Also of interest is that Navarre has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 9.83% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Because of many things, Navarre is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Navarre really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Navarre perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic nightlife, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

One of the nice things about Navarre is that it is nautical, which means that parts of it are somewhat historic and touch the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and bays. Because of this, visitors and locals will often go to these areas to take in the scenery or to enjoy waterfront activities.

One downside of living in Navarre, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 32.74 minutes every day commuting to work.

The town of Navarre is a decent size, but despite this, it doesn't have a viable public transit system that people can use to get to work.

The overall education level of Navarre citizens is substantially higher than the typical US community, as 32.73% of adults in Navarre have at least a bachelor's degree, and the average American community has 21.84%.

The per capita income in Navarre in 2022 was $44,108, which is upper middle income relative to Florida and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $176,432 for a family of four. However, Navarre contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.
